Thought I'd make a list of documentaries and other videos that touch on the topic of free will or anything related to social/environmental sciences etc. If anyone can add to this please do so.
Zeitgeist Addendum - Zeitgeist Addendum, attempts to locate the root causes of this pervasive social corruption, while offering a solution. This solution is not based on politics, morality, laws, or any other "establishment" notions of human affairs, but rather on a modern, non-superstitious based understanding of what we are and how we align with nature, to which we are a part. The work advocates a new social system which is updated to present day knowledge, highly influenced by the life long work of Jacque Fresco and The Venus Project.
Zeitgeist Moving Forward - Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, by director Peter Joseph, is a feature length documentary work which presents a case for a transition out of the current socioeconomic paradigm, the "monetary system," to a new, sustainable social paradigm called a "Resource-Based Economy". Through a series of interviews, presentations of statistics, and historical analysis, Joseph builds an argument that economists should focus on the "life ground" attributes of human and social survival, extrapolating from those immutable natural laws a new socioeconomic system, rather than the "money sequence of value," which assigns value to monetary instruments independent of their relationship to natural laws.
The documentary covers diverse issues ranging from human nature, nature vs nurture, genetics and epi-genetics, to social engineering, monetary policy, and macroeconomic policy on a global scale.
Simultaneous with the documentary aspects of the film is a fictional narrative which attempts to dramatize the subjects being discussed, and which presents creative commentary on the current state of world affairs, and well as possible future scenarios.
The film concludes with an illustration of a possible society based on the Resource- Based Economy, and a fictional narrative envisioning how such a system might emerge.
The Choice is Ours - The series shows an optimistic vision of the world if we apply science & technology for the benefit of all people and the environment.
Punishment: A Failed Social Experiment - Punishment: A Failed Social Experiment provides a detailed, critical analysis of the current legal and justice system generally in operation across the world whilst also providing potential solutions which work on preventing crime and creating a much more socially sustainable society.
The documentary film is currently in production, consisting of interviews with various academics, social activists and campaigners all of whom provide information on where we're going wrong when we treat offenders, and what we could head towards in regards to the solutions available.
It must be recognized that in order for change to occur in the system of punishment and justice, wider societal and cultural issues need to be addressed - as this documentary film recognizes that there are inherent flaws in our current social system.
Although most sources of information originate from the United Kingdom, it is reasonable to state that the topics examined will apply to many other nations.
